It has been a long time since I debuted my original line of guitars at the West Coast NAMM show back in 1977. I was a 19 year old rocker with a passion for guitars. Guitars I wanted to play simply were not being made by anyone. My only solution was to build them myself. I wanted guitars that were a bit more radical looking – but played like a hot knife thru butter. A guitar had to have a voice...a tone that you could not describe but when you heard it, you knew it was your sound. And the guitar had to have a feel...well it almost played itself...a guitar so alive, you would not know where your fingers ended and the guitar began. These were the guitars I built. With sculpted necks that seemed effortless to play and pickups that perfectly voiced the tone woods. Big headstocks and longer string lengths that added to the unique tone and feel of my guitars. And brilliant finishes that made them attractive onstage. Today, we have the advantage of technology. With computerized routers, literally anything imaginable can be built – no limitations. DBZ Guitars, founded by myself along with my partners Jeff Diamant and Terry Martin, is the melding of my past 30 plus years of guitar making with modern day technology. We, like no other guitar company, are uniquely using this technology to take the guitar to the next level. The bar has been raised.... ITS A NEW DAY... Dean B. Zelinsky
